Nick Detert
Designer

Schooled both in southern Germany and in the United States of America, Nick is a graduate of the University of Missouri, class of ’72. He became Putnam’s Studio 1012 co-owner in 1975 after four years of study under Thomas Putnam II, F.A.S.I.D. Designer.
Established in 1948 as Robnette/Putnam the firm evolved into Putnam Brunner and eventually as Thomas Putnam II F.A.S.I.D. in 1970. The two principals purchased the business in 1975 changing the name to Thomas Putnam Associates. Located in the downtown art district, at 10th and Park, Putnam’s Studio 1012 Interiors creates interior design for residential and commercial clients.
Our Personal Approach
We limit the amount of projects each designer will take on at any time so we can focus our full attention on each project from start to finish. This ensures personal and dedicated design regardless of project size or character.
We welcome any project regardless of budget or size. Every design project is considered unique and special and designed on a one to one basis.
We have access to practically every major line of furniture, fabric, art and antiquity vendors along with sources for lighting, art and accessories, presented to you at competitive pricing.

There is, of course, no substitute in design for talent, experience and a desire to create a unique and personalized one on one interior design. We are fortunate to have been engaged to assist private clients and businesses through out the Midwest Region and on opposing coasts on a plethora of interior and architectural design projects. Past projects include new construction, remodeling, room and or wing additions; space planning, furniture, fabric and window design; and procurement of custom cabinets and furniture selections.
First, let me say, it was fabulous working with Nick Detert. He carefully listened to my ideas and created a final design for my home addition that truly reflected my personality. He expertly captured my style, took my vision and made it real. I am actively looking for another project in my home, so I can continue business with him. I can’t rate his work and professionalism highly enough. My experience with Nick, and Studio 1012, was first rate. I could not have accomplished such a huge project alone.
